
べにひかり
Benihikari is a black tea cultivar developed in 1969 at the Makurazaki Branch of the Ministry of Agriculture Tea Experiment Station. It was created from crossing Benikaori (Assam hybrid) and Cn1 (Chinese variety). Leaves are large, oval-shaped, and light green, with moderate growth as a late-season variety. Particularly excellent in fragrance with supreme quality, strong cold resistance, and high yield equivalent to Hatsumomiji. Cutting success rate is high at 90%, suitable for cultivation in southwestern Japan.
