Description

Indo is a black tea variety selected from Tada-line Indian hybrid seedling gardens. It has excellent black tea quality with superior aroma characteristics. Named "Indo" after being introduced to Japan as an Indian variety. It has elegant Chinese-style high fresh aroma. Tree form is spreading with strong tree vigor and high yield. Strong in both cold resistance and disease resistance. Shape is more uniform than Satsumabeni but liquor color is slightly inferior. Suitable for black tea production areas in warm regions of Kyushu, Shikoku, and Tokai-Kinki. Vegetative propagation ability is somewhat low and growth during seedling stage is slow, but branch extension is fast due to spreading tree form, making garden establishment easy.
