Izumi

Izumi is a pan-fired tea variety selected from natural hybrid seedlings of Benihomare. It has aroma and taste suitable for export tea to North Africa, and is particularly excellent in yield, reaching 1000kg of fresh leaf yield per 10 ares. It has vigorous growth and strong cold resistance, but is susceptible to mochi disease. As an export variety for pan-fired tea, cultivation utilizing its high productivity and quality characteristics is expected.
