Description
Kuritawase is a seedling selection variety introduced from Shizuoka in 1871 by Mr. Matsushita Shigezaburo, who relocated from Shizuoka Prefecture to Tanegashima. It became a recommended variety in Kagoshima Prefecture in 1966 and came to be widely cultivated, centered on Tanegashima. It is a very early variety.
