Minekaori is a medium tea variety registered in 1988, developed by crossing Yabukita × Unkai. Sprouting and harvesting are 1 day later than Yabukita, with intermediate tree form, many branches, and excellent bush spread. It has strong tree vigor with vigorous growth in young tree stage and excellent cutting root formation. It has excellent cold and disease resistance. It's suitable for kamairi-style tamaryokucha and has distinctive aroma and flavor different from Yabukita. Suitable for cultivation in mountainous areas of Kyushu.
