Description

Okuharuka is an extremely late-maturing variety with a picking period 6 days later than Yabukita, featuring sweet cherry blossom leaf-like aroma and rich umami and sweetness. It has excellent cold resistance with almost no red or blue withering and strong resistance to frost damage. The yield is higher than Yabukita, and both first and second teas have superior aroma and taste compared to Yabukita. The distinctive aroma is enhanced by shortening the steaming time. It is a high-quality, high-yield variety suitable for cool regions north of Kanto and mountainous areas.
