おおいわせ
Ooiwase is a sencha variety developed at Shizuoka Tea Research Station by crossing Yaeho and Yabukita, and was adopted as a Shizuoka Prefecture recommended variety in 1977. It is an early-season variety with sprouting 10 days earlier and harvesting 5 days earlier than Yabukita, with high quality equivalent to Yabukita. It has vigorous growth with higher yield than Yabukita, and good cutting establishment. Suitable for cultivation in warm regions of Tokai, Kinki, and Kyushu, particularly in areas with little frost damage.
