Seimei, a somewhat early-season variety, has budding 7 days earlier and harvesting 5 days earlier than Yabukita. The liquor color is transparent green, with strong umami and weak astringency. It has resistance to anthracnose, ring spot disease, red blight, and blister blight, with higher yield than Yabukita. It is suitable for shade cultivation, with excellent color and taste for matcha and powdered tea. It is a high-quality, high-yielding variety that can be cultivated in major tea production areas south of Kanto.
