しゅんめい
Shunmei is an early tea variety registered in 1988, developed by crossing Yutakamidori × F1NN8 (Tamaminori × S6). Sprouting and harvesting are 2-5 days earlier than Yabukita, with excellent high yield for an early variety. It has intermediate tree form with good branching and bush spread, and good cutting root formation. It has strong resistance to anthracnose and ring spot disease, but is susceptible to late frost damage as an early variety. It has mild sweet aroma similar to Okuyutaka and taste rich in umami and sweetness. Suitable for cultivation in warm regions with little frost in Shikoku and Kyushu.
