Takachiho

Takachiho is a variety selected from seedling tea gardens in Miyazaki Prefecture. It has refreshing distinctive clear aroma and rich, full-bodied taste, showing excellent quality as green tea. Harvesting period is almost the same as Yabukita, but re-sprouting after late frost damage is slow and tends to be uneven. It has strong cold resistance and disease resistance. Tree form is upright. Suitable for cool regions and central flat areas of Kyushu region, with low initial pruning and heavy fertilization being important for cultivation.
