Description

Tamamidori is excellent quality for steamed tamaryokucha and good as sencha. A medium-late season variety with harvesting period about 6 days later than Yabukita. Slightly late germination can avoid early frost damage but is vulnerable to late frost. In mature tea gardens, it has many buds and high yield, but initial growth after planting is not good, so early fertilization management is important. Cold resistance is moderate, suitable for climates of Shizuoka and Mie prefectures. Weak against anthracnose.
