Tsuyuhikari is a sencha variety adopted as Shizuoka Prefecture's recommended variety in 2001, developed by crossing Shizu 7132 × Asatsuyu. It's a somewhat early variety with sprouting 1 day earlier and harvesting 2 days earlier than Yabukita. It has extremely strong tree vigor with vigorous initial growth and higher yield than Yabukita as a bud-weight type. It has refreshing aroma and harmonious mild taste. Extremely resistant to anthracnose and stronger red blight resistance than Yabukita. Excellent regional adaptability suitable for wide range from cool mountainous areas to warm regions.
