Description

Yaeho is a sencha variety selected by Sugiyama Hikosaburo. It buds 5-11 days earlier than Yabukita, has strong tree vigor, high productivity, and high yield. First tea has somewhat yellowish color tone, but summer tea quality is good. Cold resistance and disease resistance are strong. Since cutting root formation is poor, nursery management should be done carefully, and it is suitable for warm regions west of Shizuoka Prefecture without risk of late frost damage. Quality improvement can be expected through shade cultivation.
